OCD and Anxiety
Daniel J. Huesgen, MD, is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist who brings considerable assessment and medication management experience to his role on the psychiatric team at Rogers' Minneapolis location. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Dr. Huesgen completed a three-year general psychiatry residency and a two-year fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Huesgen has served for many years as an inpatient attending physician on the child and adolescent unit at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. He continues in that role, while also working closely with clinicians at Rogers' Minneapolis location to guide youth and families through the challenges they encounter when dealing with OCD, OC-spectrum disorders and anxiety disorders. At Abbott Northwestern, Dr. Huesgen served from 2007-2014 as the vice-chair of psychiatry, where he held a leadership role guiding the peer review for the quality of medical care. He enjoys teaching resident physicians and serving as a mentor to early career physicians. Dr. Huesgen is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), and serves on the AACAP Committee for Emergency Psychiatry.
