(Tampa, Fla.) Individuals with mood disorders who would benefit from locally accessible, specialized outpatient care can turn to a new program at Rogers Behavioral Health–Tampa Bay opening May 2.

The Rogers FOCUS partial hospital program offers evidence-based treatment for adults who struggle with depression, bipolar disorder or other mood disorders. Participants in this program learn therapeutic tools to help them manage harmful behaviors and engage more with life, work and family.

Behavioral activation, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy-informed skills are among the therapies employed. Treatment is offered six hours per day, five days a week at Rogers Behavioral Health, 2002 N. Lois Ave., Suite 400, in Tampa.

“We know that a need exists for this additional level of specialized care in our community,” said Eric Storch, PhD, clinical director and professor of pediatrics, psychiatry, and health policy/management at the University of South Florida Health Morsani College of Medicine. “We’re very pleased to be able to expand our services to include this evidence-based treatment option.”

Rogers Behavioral Health–Tampa Bay opened in September 2014 with services for treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety disorders and added treatment for individuals with eating disorders in March 2015.
