New Medical Director Appointed to Rogers’ West Allis Location

(Oconomowoc, Wis.) Khazi A. Muqeet, MD, has been appointed the new medical director for Rogers Memorial Hospital—West Allis. His primary role in this leadership position is to assure exceptional medical oversight of all clinical services provided at the West Allis campus, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs at Rogers’ Kenosha location.

“I understand how disabling mental illnesses can be and my priority will be to focus on continuing to provide evidence-based psychiatric services. Part of this work includes educating people to reduce the stigma of mental illness,” says Muqeet. “There is also a direct correlation between emotional and physical health and we take this into consideration in our treatment. Through exemplary medicine, we can help save lives and treat our patients and their families as our number one priority.”

Specializing in the treatment of major mental illnesses and addiction, Dr. Muqeet is board certified in adult and forensic psychiatry. He earned his bachelor degrees in medicine and surgery from the Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences in India. At the Medical College of Wisconsin, he completed his psychiatry residency, a fellowship in forensic psychiatry and also served as chief resident. Dr. Muqeet also completed a second residency program and served as chief resident in the North Wales Psychiatry residency program, in the United Kingdom.

Besides his extensive studies both in the United States and internationally, Dr. Muqeet has presented and educated various clinical and academic audiences across the world. Currently, Dr. Muqeet holds membership in the American Psychiatric AssociationAmerican Medical Association (AMA), Wisconsin Psychiatric Association and the Royal College of Psychiatrists (London, UK). He has served as the Chair and AMA Delegate of the Young Physician Section of the Wisconsin Medical Society as well. He has special interest in the applicability of genetic testing in psychiatric disorders.

Dr. Muqeet has received academic awards which have showcased his educational talents, as well as his exemplary leadership skills. When possible, Dr. Muqeet enjoys volunteering his time to help others, traveling and keeping himself updated with current affairs and advances in the medical field.
